Adults generally have ears. Ben Macpherson has poems. It’s time to put those two together with you in the driving seat. As you take your seats you get to pick from 30 thirty sets of vibes for what you want the show to be. You’re in complete control of the show, be that silly, sordid, sad or sweet. With poems covering everything from the world’s best cheese to the intimate lives of cartoon characters, Ben Macpherson has the poem for you. Blending friendly chat with style and genre, Ben is a verbal tour de force, bound to leave you laughing, crying and so much more.

Smut! The Verbal Burlesque
Smut! is a night of poetry and storytelling celebrating love, sex and identity. A verbal burlesque that can feature anything from a deeply moving love letter, to an erotic limerick. Smut! is a strictly 18+ event that will have you laughing, swooning and finding community in an inclusive safe-space to enjoy all kinds of love and the writing it inspires.

HORSEMEN | 2022
This is post apocalyptic comedy is set immediately after the world has ended, with the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse trapped in the ruins of the world. Forgotten or purposely left behind, the quartet wrestle with questions about responsibility and redemption whilst they try to get through to their supervisor to get the reward they were promised.
FATGUT | 2026
This is a show for guys who want to be sexy. But what does a good body look like? How can you decide if you are attractive? Where do you see bodies like yours, and what happens when you cannot find them? FATGUT is a brand new piece of poetry theatre exploring plus size male bodies in queer spaces.
Improv Theatre & Comedy
Ben has been making improv theatre and comedy since 2011. From fast paced sketch shows, to adventures in a galaxy far far away, Ben has improvised with performers from around the world and performed at several improv-a-thons and festivals, most prominently the Robin Hood International Improv Festival. The Fall of Byron Montrose; Poet, Gentleman, Lover | 2016
Pun filled comedy storytelling with breaks for bad poetry. Byron Montrose is disinherited, exiled and just can’t quit the opium. Travel with him on his adventures as he drifts across Europe searching for love, life and laudanum, whilst dodging Napoleon. It’s silly, witty and just a little bit naughty!

What can you learn about yourself whilst being locked inside an Isolation tank? This character comedy cavalcade is a madcap, ethereal look at independence, isolation and loneliness that we encounter as we move outside communities for the first time. From a lumberjack to the Antichrist, everyone’s here!
Bonfire Man 2019
Come on a journey to the burning heat of the Nevada desert in August, to an ephemeral city that exists for a week then vanishes into the sand. This on stage mockumentary explores self expression, creative communities and the groups that control them. expect 6ft tall lizards and the world’s stickiest investigative journalist, Glouis Theroux.
Club Wormhole
Ben is a part of the Nottingham alt comedy collective Club Wormhole. Ben has been a member since 2023, joining shortly after it was founded. Every month the Wormhole Gang present an alt comedy cabaret, featuring the best of weird and wild comedy, clowning and character acts in the UK. As part of the Gang, Ben is often a host for the show, or playing in sketches and gags. Each show is a genre parody and Ben has hosted events based on Greek Myth, The French Revolution and the Rites of Spring. Every Christmas the Gang create an alternate Panto which usually sees Ben play the Dame! from Lady Macbeth to Queen Victoria, Ben is more than happy to don a frock for the truly great roles.
